This year a friend of mine and I decided we wanted some accountability in reading the Bible and praying this year. We decided that the best way for us to do that was to have some structured-based bible studies. So we did! It was definitely a commitment and it took a lot of prioritization, but we completed seven studies resulting in about forty-one weeks of the year. It was probably one of the hardest things I have ever done, but so worth it and I am grateful for the habit that formed because of it. In a year that we both were dealing with some first-time parenting things and learning how to be a parent in the world that we live in, I was glad that we decided to lean more into the Lord instead of all the things around us.
This year I went through a season of asking questions: things that I had been taught to believe because of the Christian culture that surrounded me, but never really thought about how that related back to what I see Jesus showing us in the Bible. Doing these studies and in my own time, I was reminded that He invites us to ask Him questions. He is more than capable to handle the questions and doubts that we lay at His feet. He promises that when we seek Him we will find Him and that is exactly what I have found to be true during this time. I pray that this year brings more growth and more questions so I can lean more on who the Lord is, no matter what this year may bring.
